Have you ever participated in an obstacle racing? I have not. But I watched others do that and I can tell you - it's so much fun! Today marks one year since the last MUDGIRL in Ottawa, the muddiest activity of the year. No time limit, no prior training required - just you, other fellow racers and the 5 km / 3 mile course with lots of fun obstacles that will test your courage and stamina, and of course will make you muddy. I'm looking at those pictures and can't believe how different this current year has been with social distancing, face masks, hand sanitizers and other COVID-19 preventative measures.

While the race is all about mud, sweat and fun, it promotes a very important cause: the fight against breast cancer.
Can men participate? Not as a racer, but as a spectator like me. MUDGIRL fosters women empowerment without fearing judgement.
The first few obstacles will help you warm up, but it's just the beginning. Soon you'll get that memorable muddy experience you've come here for.
Unless you deliberately bypass some obstacles, the organizers guarantee that you'll get muddy.
There is just no way you can stay dry and clean. Would you agree with me looking at those pictures below?
Accidentally slid in a mud pit? Not a problem - a kind volunteer will generously pour water on you from a firehose.
Looking forward to the next year's race!
